Can the 7 Backend Keywords Be Different for Same Book?

Viewed 42

Hi all,

My novels are for sale in ebook, paperback and hardcover formats.

I found a keyword phrase (for one of my 7 backend keyword boxes) that is suitable for one of my books in ebook format but not suitable for paper/hardcover formats of the same book.

How does Amazon view/treat having different keywords/phrases in the 7 backend meta boxes for the same book?

Thanks, Nigel.

Hey Nigel :)

If one keyword is not suitable for ebook but not the other formats then I would think as long as they are connected that you could use that word if needed. But if this keyword does not seem key even for ebook format than I would skip it. I would only use it if it potentially had a big impact potential.

Each product will have its own identiy with Amazon algorithms and each one will rank differently based on its own performance. But if one does well, the others will benefit from that. Also with all formats linked together they benefit from combined reviews often and often also in other marketpalces too.

Feel free to ask any other questions you have (as a new question) I will try answer them all as best I can.

Best,
Corvin

Thanks Corvin.

I have all formats of the same book linked together.

Another question...in the past I have kept all 7 backend keywords/phrases the same for all formats of the same book: ebook, paperback and hardcover.

Do you think it is better to have different backend keywords/phrases for each format of the same book (to spread the chances of ranking for different keywords/phrases) or is it better to have all formats with the same keywords/phrases? Any thoughts?
