Troubles selling my hardcover on KDP via Ingram Spark

Viewed 17

Hello - love all your videos and help. Yesterday I spent 4+ hrs on Amazon support calls KDP, Reetail, seller support- no one could answer my question. I made a 34pg hardcover on Ingram (KDP only has hardcover for 75pgs + so many childrens authors go this route). Amazon sold it for a few weeks, then others sold on Amazon for more $$ and I lost the buy box. Now there are no sales (maybe because of high price?) Now ONLY other people are selling my book and none through my channel of "filfilled by Amazon". I would like to have the buy box back, but at the very least I would like people to be able to purchase my book at an honest price. Do you know how to open back up the IS-KDP sales path? Thanks for caring.

Hello, sounds very frustrating. Amazon does not fully reveal all the reasons one loses the buybox.
Things that can help is having prime shipping, lower prices, good reviews, etc.

If there are no sales and nothing changes after some time you can always try to unpublish and republish it. Also if your book is 34 pages, one thought is to add a page where you can showcase your other books, one page asking for leave an honest review and join your Facebook group (just ideas, could be other pages). But there are easy pages you can add to increase book size and then you could also style / format your book differently to make page count higher. Bigger font, bigger spacing, square book. And then for each page you could add a sketch, drawing or image and then you could have the 75 pages and just publish it right through Amazon. And I would still consider a softcover version too. It will be much cheaper and profits will be higher and the user/reader can ultimately choose which one they want to buy. aka paperback (cheaper / lower perceived value) or hardcover (more expensive / premium perceived value).

Hope this helps a little bit.
